In 2019, Johnny Woo, a UX designer who recently embraced a managerial role, found himself facing challenges and struggling to meet the expectations of being a manager.
He encountered difficulty in obtaining guidance within the organization. Therefore, he decided to take the initiative to access leadership knowledge by organizing community meetups, inviting design leaders to share their expertise. Simultaneously, such meetups would benefit the wider community and contribute to elevating the design maturity landscape.
Since 2019, these meetups have occurred on an almost monthly basis, and by 2023, they had scaled up to become conferences.
